Winning entry by ... akinom

The Brief

The company is a specialty event planner for black tie events. These events are typically debutante balls, proms, etc but also special occasion events and parties. The logo needs to reflect the sophistication and quality that are synonymous with the brand. The website is currently being updated, but when loaded you will find it at www.timelessoccasions.net.au to get a feel for it’s brand look and colours. The logo should be bold and simple, however an artistic flare may help the winning entry where added tastefully. The designer should avoid iconography of items like clock faces or watches. The logo should reflect the lettering of the company name in it’s simplicity with an artistic edge that embodies the regal quality of the brand.

Target Audience

The primary target audience is parents of teens who are in their late 30’s to mid 50’s, higher disposable income with a penchant for the finer things.
The secondary market is their older teen children.

Logo Requirements

Logosauce Standard Final Art Requirements: Vector artwork in Pantone SPOT, CMYK, RGB and BW versions. Files should be saved in Adobe Illustrator .ai or .eps file formats with all strokes converted to objects and fonts pathed/outlined. Other file formats may be acceptable in exceptional circumstances. A .jpeg or .png version will suffice for basic viewing during the competition. A lower res version for use on websites will also be required.

given the entries we’ve received to date we want to add that the target audience is more female than male. We feel that the entries to date have been distinctly masculine in design – using masculine icons (with some exceptions).

We also think it’s important that it doesn’t represent a wedding planner and to attempt to avoid wedding iconography. Think more school formal and formal events – we might plan weddings, but we don’t want the logo to pigeon hole the full service offering.

Great ‘second round’ of options – thank you all for your contribution. The additions of hearts, bows and swans has been pleasing to see that there’s been an attempt to capture a greater feminine class in the logo design. The colouring options have also been strong. The only downside has been quite plain use of font type – granted we appreciate its a difficult task of riding the line between black tie excellence and class, and the femininity we’re looking for in the design. Still many have done that well. We’ll probably start short listing early next week with already some strong options in contention.
