The Brief

LeoTreat is an ecommerce app helping people discover perfect gifts for themselves and others. Gifts can be picked up in store or delivered in New Zealand. Numerous stores will use LeoTreat to sell their product or service. From top end gifts (jewelry, helicopter rides, dinner) to cheaper gifts (T-shirts and mugs).

LeoTreat is your very own social assistant and:

  • alerts you to your networks special occasions.
  • suggests gifts matched to your friends details and specific occasion
  • allows you to create lists to help you make decisions later
  • gives timely access to great gifts, sweet treats, activities and entertainment ideas

Character: LeoTreat the lion cub loves helping people :) Is always happy!

  • delighted, trendy, bright, cute, mischievous with a hint of ‘big cat’ sophistication.

A local safari guide found the little cub wondering alone and scared in a remote open plain. The guide – understanding all the dangers the little cub faced – took the cub home with him and cared for him. The guide wanted to name the cub Leo, but the guides family knew he needed a name reflecting how special the cat was – named him LeoTreat.

AnnaNZ1:

This competition is for ONE character (mascot), but we potentially may use the character in the future doing other things (eg, holding a sign, waving a flag, holding or opening a gift). We want the mascot to have features (eg arms) that will allow us bring LeoTreat brand to life in the future :)
Currently our branding is bright purple and the logo will be just white text.

Exciting to see some designs coming through.
We have realised we would like:
- the cub to have green eyes
- not keen on sunglasses
Please remember to check out the link to get an idea of what we like.

We think we prefer cats without clothes…
although possibly a collar might work? (later we might use a collar to pop the name on, if used in a large format).

Hi Anna. Which style of character you like? The cartooned outlines, or flat style mostly with color trick? Thanks

LTAdmin:

Hi elaes
We are looking for a good use of colour, depth and detail.
We love big eyes, very cute face and bright natural colours. Maybe think like a cute 2d Puss in Boots from Shrek (minus the hat and boots lol). So our preference is probably leaning more towards flat with colour tricks rather then outlines (although light outlines is fine).
