The Brief

We provide a full range of IT services for business, but our main focus is on software development and delivering IT support.

With our name Essential It (Essentiality: something which is essential, a necessity) we want to convey that nowadays a good IT infrastructure/solution is key for growing your business.

We want to use the logo on letterheads, business cards and mugs as well.

Logo instructions

  1. should not work only in color but in black & white as well;
  2. techy but professional
  3. we like it if you can incorporate something clever in the logo: either by representing a computer symbol in the logo or if you can convey the meaning of Essential in the logo; e.g. replace the I from It with cursor (not the mouse cursor but |), transform the e in a power symbol
  4. if it helps, you’re allowed to use an abbreviation like E It

Target Audience

We serve clients in various industries and they typically are not very technical people, so our logo should represent the business while being easily identified by everyone.

Logo Requirements

Logosauce Standard Final Art Requirements: Vector artwork in Pantone SPOT, CMYK, RGB and BW versions. Files should be saved in Adobe Illustrator .ai or .eps file formats with all strokes converted to objects and fonts pathed/outlined. Other file formats may be acceptable in exceptional circumstances.

As a general remark: I like logo’s to be simple yet clear (not to heavy). And maybe something with a twist like the FedEx logo (where the arrow is hidden).

rkiggen:

I see that most of you are designing logo’s with arrows, probably because of my last remark about the Fedex logo. Let me be clear that was just an example of a logo with a twist. Since FedEx is into delivering parcels, the arrow can be associated with transport or moving forward.

I’m not asking for a logo with an arrow. Just a logo with a twist, something clever which one can associate with either IT (tech, software, computers) or the name Essential.

A good example is the logo that Hamza92 created where the letter E and a tickmark form a cursor together. That’s pretty clever.
