The Brief

While we have been doing this for a long time, our company is new. We are a print brokerage that helps people and businesses get their documents printed at the best price, matched with the best quality possible. A lot of the work we do is sent overseas to China for printing. This is how DABL Overseas Printing (pronounced dabble) has come about. It will be mostly an online print ordering system.

We would like a colorful logo that is easy to read and recognize. I would like it to have a fun, fresh look while still being professional. Possibly a bit of a retro look. I would like to avoid using CMYK colors in the logo as I feel most people in the print industry use this and I want a different look. The text to be used will be DABL Print.

Target Audience

Our target audience will be primarily the marketing departments of small and medium sized businesses.

Logo Requirements

Logosauce Standard Final Art Requirements: Vector artwork in Pantone SPOT, CMYK, RGB and BW versions. Files should be saved in Adobe Illustrator .ai or .eps file formats with all strokes converted to objects and fonts pathed/outlined. Other file formats may be acceptable in exceptional circumstances.

Hey designers. Just my 2cents but the client asked in the brief to AVOID CMYK colours in the logo – but I see that many are using them. The reason I assume they DO NOT want this is that it’s a well worn path for print company logos and most likely used by competitors. A brand/logo should stand out and be the opposite of the competition – so I understand DABL’s request.

Let’s try some other colour combinations (if you haven’t already).

Thanks for your work everyone. Just some comments about colours, Digger is correct – while CMYK is representative of the print industry, it has been over-used and I would like our logo to be different. One colour we DO NOT want to use is yellow (at least not as a primary colour). It’s a nice colour, but does not have much contrast on a white background and therefore does not make the logo stand out as much as it could.

I thought it might help to provide some examples of logos I like so here are some links:

Hope that helps. I look forward to seeing all of your creative ideas.
