City of Costa Mesa 60th Anniversary
Close: 10 February 2013
Winning entry by ... aderezo
The logo will be for the 60th anniversary celebration of the City of Costa Mesa, California during 2013.
the city is located in coastal Southern California and represents a vibrant and active culture enhanced by its great proximity to beaches, culture and healthy outdoor lifestyle.
Costa Mesa has historically attracted a free spirit and independently minded entrepreneurial group of individuals that have made the city the great place it is today.
This has resulted in the development of the world renown South Coast Plaza shopping destination
and the adjacent Orange County Performing Arts Center. http://www.scfta.org/home/default.aspx
Our lively youth culture is represented by the unique fact that the majority of surf and action sport lifestyle brands such as Hurley/Nike, Quiksilver, Volcom, RVCA, Paul Frank, Billabong, and many others have either been developed or still reside in the unique Westside Costa Mesa creative and manufacturing area. A unique “Anti-Mall” was created and also thrives to serve the cutting edge arts, fashion and entertainment culture.
We have a February 10 ending to the competetion, however, those entrants that provide some preliminary concepts by Tuesday Jan. 29 will receive priority. We are in a rush…..
We want to embrace all of our residents, however, the majority of our residents are between the ages of 18 and 44 years of age. Our logo should represent our unique heritage but with a decidedly forward thinking, contemporary and bold look.
We have not chosen our official slogan however some ideas are:
“60 and Fabulous”
“The City is 60”
Below is a nice example of what New York did for Grand Central.
We will use the logo on t-shirts, banners, signs and other co-branding opportunities during 2013.
