The Arts Council of Wilmington, North Carolina is seeking designs for it’s new logo. The Wilmington Arts Council will provide local artists a variety of different services including, but not limited to exhibition space, partnership opportunities, advocacy and, in some circumstances, project funding. We are looking for this design to communicate the arts council as an “umbrella” organization to local artist, but we’re also looking for a design that brands this organization (and Wilmington) as a regional destination for art lovers across the state. That is not to suggest or reject an umbrella being incorporated into the design, but to give you a sense that the Wilmington Arts Council operates in that nature, encompassing all elements of the arts in our area.
Here are some details that you may (or may not) decide to incorporate into your design symbolically. We are a coastal community with 3 beautiful local beaches. Wilmington is well known nationally for its vibrant film industry, however we are also well known as a very rich and active artistic community. Wilmington has a robust theatrical community and a healthy appreciation of the arts which is evident throughout the city. We are looking for a clean crisp metropolitan influenced design. The design will be used in the creation of a new web site, however the existing web site can be viewed at http://www.artswilmington.org.
Some logos we’ve been attracted to are:
